My new friend and compatriot from Vinyl Toy Freaks, Marine was kind enough to send me Olee, his resin platform toy. Check out Marine's fine wares / works / art and some vinyl news at his Tummy Toys site and at Monikceltic.
For anybody interested, here's a design sheet I drew up for the Olee platform. It's in PDF so anybody who wants to give the Olee platform a shake can try it out.
Well after a bit of organising and some deep thought, I've come up with a brand for any future Urban Vinyl / Art projects I will be attempting this year. (I currently have one at a quoting / pre-production stage and the other is at the 'wouldn't it be cool' stage).
I've got it down to four colour variants of the logo, so check it out.
Produced this piece with S4ndman, it's his turn to mess with it now, but I thought I'd put it up here for worldly perusal. I think it would make a pretty cool art print.
S4ndman (aka Mathew Beers) keeps a vox blog that deserves the more appropriate classification of Online Magazine, Vinyl Addiction. He's also the creator of the Bully Boombu art toy and a wide array of very cool artwork and graphics.
As if that's not enough, he's also one of the major proponents of Vinyl Toy Freaks, an online community of Art Toy lovers, who discuss contemporary art, urban vinyl and anything else that comes to mind. The site also maintains threads by some of the urban vinyl industry's heavy hitters (Erick Scarecrow of ESC Toys, Sket One and MAD to name a few!).
Check it out. Comments on the artwork, as always, more than welcome!
Just a reminder, that the promotion for Vinyl Toy Freaks ends 20th of
December 2007.. that's like umm 4 days! :D So if you want a chance to
win the URFUKT Bud toy, get over there, join and get posting! Rules
I'm the creative director for a company called Flame Culture, we make USB Flash Drives and Digital Photoframes, this is the USB Man, at it's in-development stage. Unfortunately the project has stalled, but I'm still proud of the little guy. Hopefully I'll be able to get it off the ground in the near future. If anybody is interested, head over to the Flame Culture website and send a message saying so, if we get enough interest, it might be a short journey to final development!
